FpML-CD FW: Optional Boolean fields for review (CDWG)

As discussed at today’s meeting, attached is an updated spreadsheet that includes the 3 optional "Empty” elements "cashSettlementOnly", "deliveryOfCommitments" and "Continuity” (European Loan CDS) that were missing from the earlier distribution.

The MTF is streamlining the implementation of Booleans in 5.0 and is asking each WG to go through the attached list of booleans in an attempt to consolidate:

· Optional Booleans of type xsd:Boolean

· Optional Booleans of type Empty

The meaning of optional Boolean fields is not always being clear and consistent; Some were made optional in 4.4 for backward compatibility. Some were made empty elements as a synonym for Boolean.

The MTF is making the modeling change recommendation to eliminate optional empty elements as a synonym for Boolean and replace them with Booleans in FpML 5.0. (see http://www.fpml.org/issues/view.php?id=538)

Please go through the list of Booleans and specify whether they can be made mandatory in 5.0 (see “Suggested Mandatory”, green , F column in Excel). We are hoping to implement the changes into the next Working Draft of 5.0 scheduled in September.

P.S.: A filter was applied on the “WG” column to only show Boolean entries specific to you Working Group. The worksheet “ALL” contains all Booleans in FpML 4.x, FYI.
