Discussion

-----------------

  • Introductions from participants. Some participants have previous experience modeling repos in XML. Greg was involved in defining the schemas for an electronic platform covering Repos. Rob mentioned that Tullet has defined an XML format for Repos and we should probably get their input.
  • Relationship with other standards covering Repos. Marc said that the demand for this working group came from the users that wanted to cover Repos in their reconciliation and post-trade processes. He said that we should try to be consistent with other standards as much as possible.
  • One of the existing standards is ISO 20022 (old 15022). We didn’t have expertise on the group on ISO standards. Irina pointed out that one of the members of this group, Joshua Derrick (ISITC), may have experience with ISO messages.
  • Another step should be to liaise with organizations such as BMA to check if they are interested in participating in the group.
  • Sylvain clarified that the development of the schema includes business rules, schema representation, and reference data (coding schemes).
  • Participants agreed on the current charter.
  • Participants agreed on having biweekly calls Tuesdays at 9 AM New York Time.

Actions

-----------

·         Rob will contact Tullet to see if they are interested in participating.

·         Sylvain will distribute the JPMorgan proposal.

·         Marc will distribute the Citco proposal.

·         Marc will check if someone from BMA is interested in participating.

Feel free to send your comments if I missed any points of discussion.

Kind Regards,

-Marc
