The development of tools that support the implementation of a standard such as FpML is of critical importance. In the following sections you will find information on different types of tools, either provided by FpML or by external vendors. Some are open source others are free. They might be FpML specific or more general XML tools.

The development and support of tools which support and facilitate the adoption of the FpML standard is strongly supported by ISDA and the FpML standards committee.



bullet Getting Started with Development Tools

FpML tools are developed in a number of areas in which users of the FpML standard have requirements. The tools promote the adoption of the FpML standard in building applications and support efficient business processes.

The FpML provides the following tools for develpment:

  • FpML Editor/Viewer: The FpML Editor/Viewer allows FpML trades to be created from scratch, loaded from a local file, or loaded from the World Wide Web.

  • The FpML Schema LiveSearch is a web application you can use to browse and analyze the FpML schema rapidly and efficiently.

  • CompatibL FpML Cashflows Generator generates cashflows for interest rate swaps represented in FpML 4.3, 4.4, 4.5, 4.6, and 5.0 reporting view.

  • FpML Web Validation Service: This free service checks FpML 4.0, 4.1,4.2, 4.3, 4.4 , 4.5, 4.6, 4.7, 4.8, 4.9, 5.0, 5.1 and 5.2 documents against the schema, and then against the business validation rules published with the specifications.
