FpML Publishes a Discussion Paper: FpML for Regulatory Reporting – Design Improvement Ideas

During the development of FpML 5.9, the FpML Regulatory Reporting Working Group (RPTWG) performed a review of lessons learned from five years of regulatory reporting using FpML.  The group identified a number of issues with regulatory reporting and proposed a set  of potential solutions to address the various issues. In addition, the RPTWG provided a draft prototype reporting message as an example. The attached paper describes the issues and potential solutions in more detail.

The FpML standards committee solicits feedback on the issues and proposed solutions described in the paper, with a goal to see whether they should considered for the next version of the FpML standard.
