FpML Quarterly Update Q2 2019

An update on accomplishments during the second quarter of 2019, and upcoming events. Versions Updates The work on version 5.11 is in full swing with the Last Call Working Draft planned for publication over the coming weeks. The main enhancements in version 5.11 are:
  1. A complete redesign of the Regulatory Reporting framework.
  2. A refactoring of syndicated loan processes and notifications, including a new and expanded set of loan business validation rules.
  3. New support for Security Lending.
  4. New Support for Inflation Rate linked Asset Swaps.
The Second Working Draft can be found at: http://www.fpml.org/spec/fpml-5-11-2-wd-2/ For a detailed overview of the changes see section 18 of the online documentation. The final Recommendation for 5.11 is planned for fall 2019. See the FpML roadmap. Coding Schemes Update ISDA published updates to the following coding schemes:
  • businessCenterScheme
  • CFTC commodityReferencePriceScheme (deprecated)
The CFTC Commodity Reference Price coding scheme was deprecated on January 25 and will be removed from the coding scheme archive on the FpML website on January 25, 2020. The 1 year deprecation period allows the industry to act on the pending removal which we will reconsider upon request during the deprecation period. Visit the Reference Data page for more information on the scheme publications or http://www.fpml.org/spec/coding-scheme/. FpML Validator - Beta Version Released In June, ISDA released a beta version of the FpML Validator. The Validator takes FpML messages as input and validates them against 1) the FpML schema, 2) standard FpML business validation rules, and 3) a check against coding schemes. The FpML business validation rules allow validation of the business logic in the messages. This complements the technical schema and coding scheme validations. The Validator is available in the following two ways: All FpML 5.x versions are supported. The Validator is the latest additions in the suite of APIs we have made available and that we will continue to develop in the second half of this year. The Validator together with the FpML to ISIN JSON Generator and the FpML to JSON Converter are available in the tools section of the website. Feedback on the Validator, Generator and the Converter is greatly appreciated. Questions or comments can be submitted to tools@fpml.org or FpML forums. Website - Transition to Secure HTTP The website is transitioning from HTTP to secure HTTP (HTTPS) on July 19. HTTP links will be redirected automatically to HTTPS. Make sure you update any internal implementation relying on HTTP URLs accordingly. If any question, please contact info@fpml.org. FpML Training Courses ISDA is organizing FpML Training Courses in New York and London: Visit https://www.isda.org/events/ for updated information.
