Summary

The MTF is streamlining the implementation of Booleans in 5.0 and is asking each WG to go through the attached list of booleans in an attempt to consolidate: Optional Booleans of type xsd:Boolean Optional Booleans of type Empty

The meaning of optional Boolean fields is not always being clear and consistent; Some were made optional in 4.4 for backward compatibility. Some were made empty elements as a synonym for Boolean.

The MTF is making the modeling change recommendation to eliminate optional empty elements as a synonym for Boolean and replace them with Booleans in FpML 5.0. (see http://www.fpml.org/issues/view.php?id=538)

Please go through the list of Booleans and specify whether they can be made mandatory in 5.0 (see Suggested Mandatory, green, F column in Excel).

P.S.: A filter was applied on the WG column to only show Boolean entries specific to you Working Group. The worksheet ALL contains all Booleans in FpML 4.x, FYI.
