There is no definition. Is this fiat currencies only, legal currencies, etc.? Can I use Platinum, Copper, etc.?

Missing documentation in the XML Schema. The definition is incorrect. This should be “sovereign state” and not “country”. I can think of quite a few countries that are not states: Scotland, Wales, Greenland, Black.

It is impossible to reliably implement the FpML coding schemes because they are defined as being of arbitrary length. Implement the facets so a maximum length is established for coding scheme values.

FpML has been supporting a list of scheme values in the codelist format online. The proposal would be to keep the most recent version of each coding-scheme in a canonicalized URL pointing to an XML file.
