Discussed at the VWG today. Agreed for ISDA to add the missing test cases.

Discussed at the VWG on 03-09-2010. The schema, in several cases, allows an instance document to either specify explicitly a concept (e.g. a date) or to reference by means of the ID / IDREF construct.
Several examples that illustrate the usage of the ID / IDREF construct are missing. The relevant working groups have shown no interest in providing these examples on the basis that such examples would not be realistic. As in practice references would never be used.
The group thinks the schema has been designed to allow references for consistency with other parts of the schema rather than to fulfil a genuine requirement.
The group recommends amending the schema so that a reference is used only when there is a requirement for it. To do so, it is necessary to identify which parts of the schema should change.
