Summary

The description for the commodity code scheme is meaningless, as for a commodity code such as 'CBT BO' the description will say 'A code for the BO commodity'.  Also, the scheme description states 'Contains a code representing a CFTC Part 20 covered commodity', which is also of limited value.

    FpML is not the sources of the “CFTC Commodity Reference Price codes and descriptions[http://www.fpml.org/coding-scheme/cftc-commodity-reference-price]. The coding scheme was developed by COMMRPTTF with the CFTC participation and with the codes/descriptions provided by the CFTC.

    See commends above – this is not FpML coding scheme. The source of it CFTC.  FpML provides the values just for convenience.
