Summary

Money has no identity, it is a data type rather than a class type. Therefore it should not have an xsd:ID attribute.

A type defining a currency amount. The currency in which an amount is denominated. The monetary quantity in currency units.

Is the id attribute used anywhere?

JPM support the removal of the ID attribute( AJ, AP, MR, HMcA )

This attribute is used in some places to allow a reference to a notional amount:

    – Credit Derivatives:
    — cd_indamt_ex01_short_us_corp_fixreg.xml — the notional (Money type) is referenced by the independent amount structure (notionalReference)

    USD
    5000000

    – Allocations:
    — msg_ex20: id is shown but it’s not used by any href.

    – Increases:
    — msg_ex12: it copies cd_idamt_ex01 example for the product representation so error is replicated.

    – Terminations:
    — msg_ex13 & msg_ex14: it copies cd_idamt_ex01 example for product representation so error is replicated.

    – PositionReport:
    — pr_ex13 : the same as the others.

2008-03-17 Coord: Agreed to reference the structure around the Money at not the Money itself but the structure is being used currently so we need to change it in 5.0 and get the working groups to change the model.

    • We understand the issue but we are not going to change the entire type structure to remove the id from the Money type.
    • Agreed to close the issue.
